Known as City View as it overlooks Geraldton. Good ridge soaring site close to town with easy access. Definitely NO ACCESS without clearance from the land owner via local pilots only. You MUST contact local pilots in Geraldton before heading up there to get access. If you haven't been here before, contact Cloudbase Paragliding Club or Hillflyers Club or other pilots with experience at the site. Preferably organise your first flight with a club member or local pilot who has good knowledge of this site. This site is privately owned, so is sensitive and could easily be lost. There is no problem with parking for lots of cars. No camping. Never access the property, even to just take a look, without having gained permission.
Flight
Top and bottom landings. Caution as power lines intersect the main bottom landing in front. 500ft height restriction applies. Site is within the bounds of Geraldton airport and VHF must be carried and used above 500ft. CTAF frequency is 126.8 . There is a wire gate at launch to facilitate safe launching. Caution on landing as the fence runs along the top of the hill edge. Despite proximity to the coast this is an inland site subject to thermal turbulence, and needs to be respected. XC record is over 100km to Mullewa. Westerly winds tend to occur with some instability making the site both challenging and rewarding.
