Contact/Responsible
Wicked Wings Para/Hang Gliding ClubThis is a very sensitive site. Access is highly regulated. Please contact the friendly Wicked Wings Para/Hang Gliding club for information how and when we can fly there.
Takeoff
Easy take-off from a gentle slope, followed by a steep drop.
Landing
The bottom landing zone is in a fenced paddock, with a powerline running along the road. The paddock has a few trees and a container at the end. There is still plenty of space to plan your approach and land. This is also a very good site to practice top landings and face landings near the launch.
Flight
Great little site in the right conditions. Allows thermal flying and ridge soaring, the latter especially in the afternoon. Launch is only accessible via 4WD or via a ~20min hike. Retrieves take around 3min by car. Make sure you get a briefing before you fly, as Ma Ma is known for its 'bullet thermals', and can become quite unfriendly in a Southerly. On weekdays we have to stay below restricted military airspace in this area (Amberley), which begins at 4,500ft or ~1,390m.
